LJ Anderson
Writer and Columnist
Specializing in Health Writing
Welcome! As a writer and columnist, I have interviewed hundreds of physicians, nurses, scientists, authors, patients and health advocates, and written numerous articles for both consumer and professional publications.

On a regular basis, I write a freelance health column for the Palo Alto Daily News, a community newspaper in Silicon Valley. The column has been recognized by the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club with a 1st Place Award (2006) and 2nd Place Award (2007 and 2008) for feature columns in daily newspapers under 75,000 circulation.

I was also a founding editor of NURSEWEEK, a successful trade newspaper for registered nurses. During my tenure as editor, the publication received the American Academy of Nursing’s 1990 Media Award for Print Journalism.

With each assignment, my goals are to:
  1. Provide concise and accurately written copy on time
  2. Be respectful and considerate of those whom I interview
  3. Ask insightful questions that elicit thoughtful responses
  4. Share knowledge that educates and improves health
Lastly, it’s not possible to write in the field of health and medicine for long without being acutely aware of the needs of the underserved. Whenever possible, I bring attention to those who suffer with physical and emotional hardships.

Thank you for visiting my website, and I hope to hear from you.
